According to reports, the wholesaler was found selling liquor bottles without permission and excise officials initiated action after receiving a complaint. When contacted, Excise Inspector Amol Harwalkar confirmed they had seized liquor from the wholesaler. “We received a complaint from one person accusing the wholesaler of selling liquor bottles. We went to the site and seized the bottles,” Harwalkar said.
Earlier acting on a complaint from an NGO, the Ponda excise had seized liquor worth Rs 10,000 from two shops at Curti-Ponda in the first week of May.
